'I Don't Have Much' was penned by Mission House's Taylor Leonhardt during an extremely rough season. Working multiple jobs to pay the rent, exhausted, discouraged and feeling a lot of shame for all of it, Taylor tells how she had to learn how to ask for help, but even more than that, how to receive it. She explains, "When I think about the kindness of God in my life at that time, even now, it just doesn't make sense at all. I think God is not asking me to prove myself to Him, He's asking me to trust Him with my heart and to find my life in His life." Fellow North Carolina native, Josh Baldwin, heard something very relatable in 'I Don't Have Much' - a message he wanted his church to hear and sing together. As he started leading it at his church, he connected with Taylor and Jess Ray of Mission House expressing how much the song had been encouraging him and the response to the song as he'd been leading it. Baldwin's collaboration on this single from Mission House naturally came about from there and the continued growth of connection that people have found with the message and melody of 'I Don't Have Much' across platforms.
