Louise Pollok is a worship leader and songwriter from Australia who has just recently released her first album. I'll Be Your Bride is inspired by the Song of Solomon (aka: Song of Songs) with the idea being that we are the Bride of Christ. Louise wrote this album amidst trying times in her own life, but the hope of Christ shines through each song. Musically, I'll Be Your Bride carries a pretty common worship sound by today's standards. There is a lot of piano and some guitars and other instruments added into the tracks to fill them out. The lyrics are worshipful and Christ-centered and take on a different approach than many of today's popular worship artists and/or churches. Out of the nine tracks on the album, the best is very likely "War Song." Louise's higher pitched voice is tamed in this one and blends in with the music nicely. The music is very interesting and starts with a more somber sounding piano, but the drums and guitar build the song nicely and give you a sense of marching into battle. Pollok sings from the perspective of God in our battle against spiritual forces talked about in Ephesians 6:12, "War is coming; I'm bringing the victory. I am calling; arise. War is coming; I've got the victory. I am calling; arise." It's a really solid song and definitely stands out.

I'll Be Your Bride would definitely be recommended to listeners who really enjoy the music coming out of the Hillsong and Bethel churches. If you're looking for a starting place, I'd recommend the aforementioned "War Song," Psalm 23," and the acoustic version of "The King is Here." Those who enjoy this style of music will likely find a lot to like in I'll Be Your Bride. Nice musical composition, coupled with interesting themes and fresh lyrics, make this one worth looking into for worship music fans.
