There seems to be an obvious disconnect with today's younger generations and the church. It's no secret that many of the same church youth groups that were overflowing in the 90's are struggling to stay relevant and keep up with the life and activities of teenagers today. Jamie Grace is an easy pick when thinking of younger musicians proclaiming the name of Christ, but the list gets really short, really fast. Sisters Kaylee + Erica, however, are a new addition of younger Christians singing praises to God. The two girls present a praise and worship message set to pop/rock and acoustic based music in their new EP, Creation's Song. The EP's pop/rock opener is a fun and energetic introduction to the Tuttle sisters, -- as they proclaim to be "Available" to serve God however He sees fit -- but the following "Worship Journey" shows their heart. The journey displayed in the song is a medley of three modern worship songs put together in a beautiful package. "Permission" starts with a prayer asking God to enter in and take over all aspects of your life and the lyrics of the song continue on that same path. With that said, the best song on the EP is arguably saved for last. An acoustic guitar is picked lightly as the girls' distinct voices are placed front and center. Each has a very different sound, but they work nicely together. "All of Creation" speaks of God's sovereignty and really shows off the Tuttles' true potential as singers and songwriters. Kaylee + Erica show great promise as a vocal duo, and manage to do so at such a young age. Creation's Song isn't perfect, and there is undoubtedly room for growth, but these girls are putting themselves out there in an impressive fashion. Fans of worship music, or pop/rock, may find it worthwhile to try out this short, 4-song EP from two sisters who love the Lord and seek to honor and worship His name. I'm looking forward to seeing what these two have to show over the coming years.
