If you have not seen P.O.D. live in concert, you should. These guys are amazing. Although, they have changed over the years. This album is a good look at what their shows were like in their early days. Although it sounds as if there are only two dozen people in the crowd, there is a ton of energy.
Live At Tomfest starts with the sound of the crowd as they anticipate the coming thrill. Suddenly, the band begins with a pounding heavy metal riff, and from there go right into "One Day." By the end of the song, it has turned into a reggae style song with Sonny praying to God. Track "Punk-Reggae Jam" has guest vocalist Russel from Dogwood. This song starts out as an old school punk rock song, but again changes into a reggae worship song. "Breath Babylon" is, in my opinion, one of P.O.D. best songs they've ever done, with "Preach" following. "Preach" is a straight forward Christian song, no doubt about it. Next, Sonny refers to someone at the show who has just been faced with a death in the family. He takes this time to pray for anyone who is struggling with this issue. This appropriately leads into "Full color," which is a heartfelt song about how Sonny lost his mother. The last track "Murder" is a bold song that is outright against abortion.
This may not be the most high quality live recording, but that is not the point. The point is to show what a P.O.D. show is like (or used to be like). The Christian message fills every aspect of this album while also providing some great heavy rapcore songs.
