The very beginning for mainstream's newest (and possibly one of the fastest) rise to fame, Adam Young's Owl City, his Of June EP is a fantastic addition to any emotronic/synthpop fan's collection. While most artists' first release, especially while independent, generally shows just how far an artist has come, the only difference between Of June and Owl City's major debut Ocean Eyes is the pristine production and, honestly, it doesn't detract from anything. Young's voice shines through track by track while his beats and synth brings us back to "Fireflies" fame. Anyone who is a fan of Ocean Eyes or even just Owl City's hit "Fireflies" should definitely spend the $7 for this album.
Favorites include an early version of "Hello Seattle" and "Fuzzy Blue Lights," but honestly, the whole EP is good.
