Whether or not you are a fan of FOX's show American Idol, if you keep up with what is going on in music, you have probably heard of Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, and Carrie Underwood, Idol's winners through four seasons. These artists have all had varying levels of success, but what becomes of the show's finalists who come close but end up losing? For Clay Aiken, coming in second was almost a blessing as he has now become the second most successful Idol contestant to date. In season three, George Huff was a favorite among many, but was finally cut, ending the season as the fifth place contestant. Thankfully, Huff chose to stay with his passion and ended up releasing an impressive Christmas EP in 2004. He now follows up that effort with Miracles, showing much of what made him a successful Idol contestant while also branching out and serving up a variety of upbeat, smooth, and peaceful songs.

From the first track, Huff is not bashful about his message with "Real Love (I Got It)", boldly claiming his faith by stating, "Real, real love I got it/ and I gotta shout it/ and let everybody know about it." There is no doubt what Huff's mission is and it is very encouraging to hear another Idol contestant who is so proud about his faith. Huff co-wrote six songs on the album, including "See What God Can Do," a song of encouragement inspired by his journey from a childhood spent in a federal housing project to where he is today. Songs like "A Brighter Day" and "Bounce" can most easily be described as "fun," in a style like only George himself can do. Other tracks like "Hold on to Love" and "You Know Me" slow down the pace and really highlight Huff's amazing voice. Sounding quite like Kirk Franklin at times, but still creating an original sound all his own, Huff can stand up with the big names. He simply has an incredible vocal range and crisp, clear notes that make each song stand out.

Overall, this full-length debut is a refreshing, encouraging album that has its serious parts, but for the most part is lighthearted, lively, and entertaining. Huff looks to have a bright future ahead of him, and it will be great to see what lies ahead for this talented young musician.
