Charlie Hall
Flying Into Daybreak

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 12 tracks: 50 minutes, 15 seconds
Street Date: January 24, 2006

After two previous attempts at creating an album that lives up to what he expects of himself, Charlie Hall has produced an album that surpasses Porch and Altar and On the Road to Beautiful. His third effort with Sixsteps/Sparrow Records, entitled Flying into Daybreak, continues where On the Road to Beautiful left off, and in the same way, feeds into the previous album.

The Oklahoma City worship leader uses the generic acoustic/pop-rock worship style to create a worship album much alike those of his predecessors, with a little twist of his own. The twelve track album kicks off with "Micah 6:8," which has a more rock based sound and features Hall's smooth and strong vocal abilities. The end result are songs that are clear and meaningful and easy to sing along to.

Noteworthy on the album is "Marvelous Light," an extraordinary song that gives the album a needed kick. This song is already being sung around the nation at various worship events. Also worth mentioning is the acoustic driven "Center" written by both Charlie Hall and Matt Redman.

Flying Into Daybreak is a great effort at creating a worship album full of songs that are worthy to be sung in church services, but it will be exciting to see how Hall creates a sound more of his own in the future. This album is definitely a bigger step than those in his past. If you enjoy the likes of Chris Tomlin, Watermark, Matt Redman, David Crowder Band or any other intense worship artists, you may enjoy Charlie Hall's Flying into Daybreak as a lighter album.
